Hiding something

Sometimes because of pride or ego or a mistaken idea, one person may not confide in another or tell them the whole truth. Have you ever been in a situation in which you didn’t want the other person to know something about you? You had something you wanted to keep secret? How did you act? Did the other person realize you were hiding something? How did your behavior change the way they acted toward you?

Yes this has happened to me! All the time! Everyone has their little secrets like when a guy friend wants to know who you have a crush on! And that guy friend just so happens to be the one guy you have a crush on! You don't want to tell them who it is, and you don't want to lie about it. And if you say that you cannot tell them they either decide its them or that it is one of their friends and you are too embarrassed to say who. I hate keeping secrets because I am so bad at it.

Costumes!

Describe your best or worst Halloween costume ever. Use lots of details and explain why it was so awesome or lame.

The lamest costume I have ever worn would have to be when I was a really little girl my mom dressed me and my two other sisters up as the three little pigs! It was horrifying! I was about three years old and so I was a pretty chunky little girl and I looked like a real pig! I have to say it was pretty cute except for me looking like a real pig!

Edgar Allen Poe

It seems like reading Edgar Allan Poe stories around Halloween is a rite of passage for students in English classes. He wrote poems such as "The Raven" and "Annabel Lee". If you have read Poe stories before, which ones have you read and what do you remember of them? Did you like them? How scary/creepy were they? Well I remember that last year in Mrs. Eaquinto's class we read the tell-tale heart. It was a really really creepy story. I'm not sure that it is the story that I am thinking about right now but I know that we read it. We also read The cask of amontillado. I remember watching the movie but not so much the book. It was a pretty creepy slash scary story. I generally don't like Scary stories or movies or anything because they scare me so I will have to say that I probably won't like lots of the stuff that we will read this term. I can't stand scary stories and movies because they freak me out and then my mind will start playing tricks on me and I get even more scared.

I have always wondered why my people always watch the loud box, the colors are pretty but the sounds make no sense. The box doesn't even have a smell! Or a taste! They sit on the "couch" and watch that box all the time. My person forgot to feed me cause he was watching the box! This box can also make my people cry! And my people go crazy when they are watching "sports". And I'm not sure why but I am not allowed to bark at this box! Not even when another person is trapped inside it! Its crazy!

ummm.... i really love to go and ride horses and one of my favorite sounds is the sound of the horse walking on pavement. i know it sounds weird but it is cool to me. also my favorite smell would be the smell that it makes right after rain. i have never seen a live skunk in my life but i love eyes! eyes are one of the most attractive things to me! i notice someones eyes before i notice anything else! i just love beautiful brown eyes! and the the bright blue that really stands out!

Secrets!

Have you ever known a secret that you thought you should tell? Did you tell? If you've never experienced this, what do you think it would be like to know a secret that you think is dangerous?

well yes. it wasnt a dangerous secret just a secret i was not supposed to tell anyone. and so far i have kept this secret to myself. i am really good at keeping my own secrets but not anyone elses if i think they wont be mad if i tell someone. but i keep every secret someone tells me. because i dont know about you but i like to know whats going on all the time. secrets are over rated though. i could care less if my crush knew i was crushing on him. it just doesnt bother me. someone will probably find out and it will turn into a great big rumor. and those are not funny at all when they are about you. i would rather people know the truth then some silly rumor. so i usually tell them before they can hear some crazy version of the truth.

Does fate exist?

Do you believe in Fate? Are there certain things in life that, once set in motion, are inevitable; things that cannot be stopped once they are started? The story of Romeo and Juliet implies that the path of their love and what happens to them is part of Fate's plan. Do you think this is possible?

um... i believe that fate can happen but not with romeo and juliet. it cannot be that no matter what anybody would do both romeo and juliet would have to die. things happen along the way. but fate can happen like.... it is everyones fate to die eventually but it is not fate that someone messes everything up and romeo and juliet end up killing themselves. fate is not very specific. fate is kinda like future. it can always change depending on what someone decides and who they decide to trust or where they decide to be......fate exists but it is not specific enough to say exactly how and when you will die or meet someone or whatever.

My mother asked me if I would consider Paris as a future husband today. I am very young but everyone thinks that I should start looking for a husband. He is a handsome man, and he seems really nice. My parents are holding a Capulet party tonight which both Paris and I will be attending. I will talk with him tonight and see if I could ever love him. But I will not fall in love with anyone tonight without both of my parent's consent.

True Love!!!!!

Yes I do believe that it exists...infact I know that it exists. But it definately does not exist in my life. Love is something I do not really like because, in my own personal experience, it always ends badly. I know one day I will find my own true love, just not anytime soon. I think that everyone around my age has thought that they have felt it, but really it is just a crush that will break your heart if you give it to them. Don't let a pretty face or nice body blind you into thinking it is love. If you really love someone, you won't care if they are ugly. You won't care if they are older or taller than you. You will love them for what they look like on the inside.

Super power!

If you had one superpower, what would it be and why? (Hint: describe exactly what your power would be, why you would want that one, what you would use your power for, etc. Would you be good or evil? Would you use it just for fun or for a good cause?)

I would like to have something kind of like mind reading, like I can hear whoevers thoughts I want to at the moment. Kind of how Edward can in the Twilight series. That way I could always know the answer to a question or be able to know what someone thought of me. It could help me in School and any sports or even board games. I would always know who someone was and the right thing to say to them.

Shakespeare!

What comes to your mind when you hear the words, "Now we're going to read Shakespeare!" Do you cringe in fear? Do you giggle with glee? What past experiences have you had with Shakespeare to make you react the way you do?

I don't really have anything against Shakespeare and I have not read alot of his writing. I know he writes plays and books but not much more. I know he writes stuff like Romeo and Juliet but I don't know if he actually wrote that himself. I also know people who have read it and they all say that it is the most boring thing that they have ever read in their whole life. I have read some of Romeo and Juliet and it was okay, not boring but not the kind of book I would normally read. So I will have to go with, please don't make us read Shakespeare! It is hard to understand and really boring! I can't keep my attention on the book long enough to even get what it is about! Don't make me try to read that stuff! But I honestly bet that the stories and plays are good, just if we read like a simplified version, I think all of us would like it more.
